The perfect dress..ruined…Or so I thought.

It’s not too often I find a dress I immediately fall in love with. But every once in a great while–the dress finds me-and I am HOOKED. Well, this glorious feeling occurred last month at my local Bargain Hunt. The perfect lacy white dress. So elegant. SO dreamy. So me. I had to have it. And yes-it was at bargain hunt. Judge if you must.

But to top off my dress high, every single dress in the store this particular day was FIVE DOLLARS. Five bucks! I couldn’t believe it–my dream dress was $5.00-and it was in my size. (Bargain hunt was selling this dress for $49.00-so I know the original price was through ROOF. You can just look at it and tell the quality is A++ so I was thrilled with the $5.00 price tag…..I found some great deals on some other Lark&Ro items Here and Here if you want to check out some other awesome items they have!!) At any rate, I grabbed it and was in quite the hurry, so I didn’t try it on. But for five bucks, shoooooot, it would fit someone if it didn’t work for me. ( Really though–I wanted this to fit more than I have ever wanted a dress to fit before.)

I came home and immediately hung it in the closet, ready to wear for Sunday. Well, Sunday rolls around and I put it on-Dale zips it-and lawd have mercy! It fit-like a glove. Dear gosh I was so IN LOVE. Well, life sure knows how to burst my bubble-because DANG IT if that dress didn’t have a huge hole right in on my front shoulder area. Oh I was crushed as I had to take it off and find a new outfit. The perfect dress. Betrayed me. (Insert hypothetical incontrollable sobbing. )

I think anyone else would have donated it after that-but I am no quitter. So I tried to cover it with a brooch, and that was a mess. The hole sat too high on my shoulder to cover it. It looked crazy. So idea number 2 hit–and I am a little proud. Just a little. Ok a bunch. A bunch proud. Don’t laugh.

I have so much embroidery floss on hand (not sure why) that I thought maybe I could make something cool to cover up the hole in my heart. Oh…. I mean my dress. The hole in my dress.

Here’s another view of this terrible hole in my heart…Gosh I mean DRESS! There is a hole in the DRESS!

So I quickly sewed the fabric together, but now there was an ugly seam in the middle of my shouldery-clavicle area that was downright awkward. I promptly threaded a needle with the floss, and attempted to embroider some random flowers over the weird seam. (Click HERE To see what I used to embroider the flowers. This is where you click for the appropriate needles! )

Now, it isn’t perfect, but I got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on this dress. Next time, I will buy an embroidery hoop instead of trying to freehand that mess. Gosh that was annoying.

But check out what it looks like up close–again–not perfect, but it did the job!

Now I have a totally original piece, that makes for a fun conversation when people mention it!

Here is what it looks like on–and y’all-you know I’m SMITTEN.

What do you think? Pretty, eh?

I can’t find my dress exactly, but click Here for a fun alternative! Here is another fun option…. Click here. Hopefully this inspires some of you to get creative with your clothes and add some pizazz to your outfits! I may start doing this on everything, just to add some originality to my wardrobe. 😜

What do you think? What is your creative go-to in fixing outfit problems? Let me know!

‘Getting too personal’ post

Ok men who read my blog–I know who you are..and this is a post you need to skip. Scroll on past, don’t click the link, look away, turn your head-whatever you need to do to NOT READ THIS POST. WOMEN ONLY from this point on. I’m telling you–it’s not something you want to hear or know about. It’s one of those “women talk” posts. Ohh yea…….now you get it.

Ok now that we are clear, and It’s ONLY ladies reading from this point forward (right?) let’s get into it.

I’ve hesitated to post this for a while, but the more I think about it, the more I think it might be needed–Maybe not. Or maybe you will say it’s too personal and I shouldn’t do another post of the sort. Well hopefully, I won’t need to do another post of this sort, because I have the issue fixed. I’m telling you–guys–if you are still reading….there is still time to back out. Do it now or you are going to regret it later.

Soooo…the goods. Or the bads…the worsts. Yeah-that’s what we will call them-“The Worsts.” Yep–talking about periods y’all. And really, I can’t complain about mine. I don’t cramp. I don’t even feel a thing til it “hits me.” Now my husband on the other hand can always tell when it’s coming because I have to have a good cry over nothing in particular a couple days before FLO decides to make her entrance. And the “you must be about to start your period” convo insults me every dang month because I think I am truly just having an emotional day… then the period shows her nasty teeth and I have to laugh because he always knows me better than I know myself. Poor husband. Bless him.

At any rate, I literally have been using Always brand pads forever. Just because, you know, that’s the #1 brand, right? Well, I have had this awful issue that I just kind of assumed came with the territory. Well evidently not…. Ok here goes…Every single period I was getting so chaffed ! And let me tell you–It was HORRIBLE. I couldn’t move at all without this pain. And it was every minute of every day while on the nasty week. Ugh. AWFUL. I never once thought it could have been because of the equipment I was using, I just assumed, once again, this is what happened from the extra moisture for the week. (SO sorry all. Trying to be as G-rated as possible here.)

I used everything to try and cool down the problem. Coconut oil. Lotions. Vinegar (Umm…Ouch.) Boudreaux’s Butt Paste (This was actually a huge help….Uhh…yea. Had to use the butt paste for diaper rash on my yoo-hoo. Not glamorous girls. Nope. Not at all.

But describing the issue to a friend one day, she asked ” What brand do you use?” To which I of course replied “Always.” She said “Oh my gosh! Change the brand! Those things TEAR ME UP!”

OH MY GOSH….How did this never hit me before????? I guess I have just never been allergic to ANYTHING before so it never even crossed my mind!

Well, after some thought, I went to Target to get a pad that was “pure.” No chemicals. No nastiness. I had enough nastiness as it was..That’s when I came across these heavenly hourglass shaped pillows.

I had this bag sitting on my counter for a week, and no one knew what it was. Isn’t the packaging AMAZING? So glam for a bag of pads. And please notice what ISN’T in them:

  • Pesticides
  • Rayon
  • Fragrances
  • Deodorants
  • Dyes

Who knew those things were in other pads???? My gosh I was shocked! Also–loving that the size is SUPER-califragilisticexpialidocious. Heck yes. Love it. And any bag that flat out says “We got you” on the front, is an ace in my book.

Check the back! Y’all-I’m sold for life!!!

The brand is called L. I grabbed mine at my local Target, but here is a link if you want to order online.

FYI-they worked great. No leaks. No hurt. No rash. No pain. And they don’t cost any more than Kotex or Always. *Added Plus–for every pad bought, they give one to a girl in need. Yes. Just yes.*

So now that you know WAY to much about me and my issues, what do you think about these? Guys-who kept reading when I said not to–poor souls. You did it to yourselves…..

Anyways…..You think this is maybe something you would want to try?? Let me know!

My secret tip for curls that LAST.

Hey laddiiieesss!!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend-ours was wild! We drove to Ohio Friday after Ford got out of school, and Saturday had a baby shower and a wedding! Drove back today so it was a really short weekend-but we love crazy weekends!

I made sure to curl my hair before we left Friday so I wouldn’t have to do my hair again over the weekend! (Fun fact- I tried to do some fun red tips on my hair via a spray-on color. In true Brandi fashion, I ran out before it looked like anything

decent and was left with some fantastically splotchy pink hair. Great. My bro-in-law came in the house and just shook his head in disgust when he saw my pink hair. Hahaha my life. I brushed the pinkish spots through the best I could and curled it with my wand-and TA-DAH! I had some super fun rose gold curls–no splotches at all! Thank goodness it all worked out. )

Can you see it here? Maybe a little? Ok no. That’s fine. At least check out my awesome new road trip shirt. ❤️

Now that you know my adventure for the weekend, want to hear about my curls??

Everyone always asks how I curl my hair–and what the trick is to making them last as long as I do–and I want to share my secrets with all you!

To start, I have to admit, I have some pretty versatile hair when it comes to styling. My hair is slightly coarse and EXTREMELY THICK. I also have some natural wave to it….And not the pretty beach wave. More like TWG wave. (If you can’t figure out what TWG is, feel free to email me and I will fill you in.) That being said, I can straighten my hair with ease. I can curl it even easier. It holds great! But I have a couple secrets to getting the most out of your curls…. This is how I started…..straight hair.

I just realized my camera lens is broken so I have terrible dots on the pics –so sorry!!!! Ignore him if you can, that’s another problem for another day.

And the steps are as follows…….

1. Use a wand

No magic involved-I don’t believe in all that mess. You just need a curling wand. A friend gave me me mine a couple years back–and I am HOOKED! It’s so simple to use and for some reason, holds curl SO MUCH better than any iron I’ve ever used. Hey you–reading the post–Get a wand.

2. Use hairspray on every section.

Not only do I spray my hair all over when I am finished, I spray small sections throughout as I go. So I section my hair off as go….

Yes. I know. It’s not attractive. But it makes it so easy to see what you have done! Here is another fun sectioning pic. Classy, eh? Just curl a few curls and then spray. Curl. Spray.

3. The ultimate secret—-DRY SHAMPOO

Ok-Curls really stay best in dirty hair. Day old hair is the best–sounds gross/looks amazing. But if you have clean hair and need your curls to keep, use dry shampoo almost as a primer before you curl! I always spray my roots with it—(Have you seen the tee shirts that say “My hair is 99% dry shampoo”? Ok-well those were written about me.) At any rate–I always spray my roots, but on curl days, I spray all over my hair (lightly) and it holds the curl that much more!!!!!!!

So here are a few pictures showing how I wrap my hair around the iron..and yes, it matters how you wrap your hair-Believe me! Just wrap in about 2 inch sections or smaller, and point the wand down if possible. You can also buy a glove to use that keeps your hands from getting burnt as you curl–I just don’t have one and personally don’t think it’s needed.

As you can see, I end with some pretty fun curls and I don’t mind them at all just the way they are…( I just slightly finger comb them to separate the curls a bit.) Now I know most people will want to brush them a bit to keep from getting the Bo-Peep look. I get it. But I am usually walking around with a bow the size of Texas in my head anyways, so looking a bit more like a southern belle does not offend me at all. : )

I also have the craziest cowlick (I have never seen ‘cow lick’ in written word before, so typing that threw me off a bit…. ) so check how my hair falls if I don’t pin it back.

Yea–it’s wild. So I ALWAYS bobby pin my hair. Plus I love the extra volume. Yup-Me and Dolly-pssshhh…. Yeah right- I wish I could be on her level. At any rate, this is the finished product and I LOVE these curls! Now you know my biggest curl secrets and hopefully they are helpful !!! Let me know what you think!

Mixing patterns–Its a beautiful thing.

I'm telling you–this is something you HAVE to get with. Men, women, kids-it looks good on everyone!

I am a huge fan of either wearing a plethora of prints–mixing stripes and florals/something edgy and dainty/gold and silver–the list goes on. It all can work-promise!

I have been asked several times for this blog post–and I was so excited! Mixing prints is one of my FAVORITE ways to spice up an outfit…and I want to share with you some of my favorite ways to do it!

Stripes and Florals

If you aren't on board with this-its time to hop on. I LOVE a good stripe/floral mix. Something about it is so classic. And notice I have 2 different stripes going on? Now I realize this might be a little much for some people, but I am ALL ABOUT several prints going on at once. This skirt came from Bliss Knox and I love it with everything I have–it comes with an amazing story too 🙂

And for all you thick girls who think you can't wear horizontal stripes–let me be the first to tell you. You are WRONG. Work 'em girl. There are certain ones that can be SO flattering. Just find a good stripe that works for you! And if you don't trust yourself, take a trusted buddy to shop and ask for help! And if not, just send me a pic and I will be happy to help 🙂

Here is another fun way to do stripes and florals–with your shoes!!!! I adore these shoes. They have a slight edge to them, but still girly with the floral print. Perfection.

Edgy and Dainty

Ok–this–I have all the heart eyes over this outfit…. Gosh I love me a good army green top–and this one. Y'all-I LOVE IT. With jeans, shorts, or even a dainty tulle skirt–it so gorgeous. You have to try it! And I am a serious believer in the tulle skirt–every lady should own one. You may feel you look slightly like a 4 year old at first–but I promise–They are timeless and classic and oh so dreamy. And you look classy-not at all like a child. You can grab them on the cheap too—I've seen them at my local Ross for $12.00!!

(This is me laughing over squirrels playing in the tree next to me… Just for your enjoyment. 🙂

Oh I also wanted to include a pic with this AWESOME clutch my boss grabbed for me at a market in India–Can you see it? I am so in love with the color…and it's big enough to hold my phone. Score.

Here is another edgy look with a super sweet feel.
This is one of my fav fall vests- I wear it over a long sleeve black tee. But I was craving wearing it now–so I broke it out and paired it with my "cupcake" skirt. That's what I feel like when I wear this skirt–a sweet lil' cupcake–its so fun! And notice–paired with pearls. Of course-my go-to necklace of choice.

Gingham and ANY PRINT possible

This is a definite favorite of mine. I love gingham. In every way possible. My mom made this skirt for me and I LOVE IT. Its a high low skirt and is so fun! Go get yourself a gingham skirt and I promise you won't look like a picnic table.

Ignore my shoes in this pic–these are my go to comfort shoes when my feet can't handle heels. But check out the stud with me…. He has 2 different gingham prints–and looks OH SO HANDSOME. Don't be afraid to mix prints!!!!

And this pic just because I have 2 gingham skirts but they have totally different feels… also–I had this headband LONG before I had this skirt- and wanted a skirt like this forever! My momma made this one too and It goes down as one of my fav skirts in all of my almost 28 years of life. (Ugh almost 30 is not a good feeling.)

This also goes down in history as one of the few times I was "matchy matchy." I hate to make everything match–but this day I felt like it was necessary. 🙂

More gingham on gingham–and a little tree branch action happening too. I made this bow tie and ADORE IT… Check out the little ham modeling it—he is such a wild man!!

Ok dolls, that's all I have for now— but you can see–mixing prints is such a good thing! I love when people tell me" I never would have put that together–but it looks great!" Or even when I get the back handed " Wow- I would NOT have put that together-but you can pull it off" comments—I take pride in it!

That just proves that I am doing what I want to do–and you should too! Dress for you–not for anyone else. Be daring! Be bold! Be wild! And It may push you out of your comfort zone a bit, but all the fun things happen out of your comfort zones. 🙂 And if you wan't help, don't hesitate to send me a pic! Follow me on Instagram at @smittenwiththree_blog and I would love to see what you put together!!!!!!

5 minute makeup using ONLY drugstore products

Makeup tutorials seem to be my most requested blog posts–and I love that! Problem: I can’t do videos on my blog–so I have to do it via a series of pictures-which poses quite the challenge, but I am up for it. I think.

So I tried to whip up a 5 minute makeup routine–and I really think its pretty easy to follow. If you need any help with ANY of the steps, comment or email me! I am happy to give any insight I have.

Once again, I am NOT–I repeat NOT a professional. I just like to play in makeup, and you all have asked to see how I do it! So here goes…

5 MINUTE MAKEUP using these tools:

  • Foundation: Physician’s Formula CC Cream
  • Bronzer: Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer
  • Mascara: Maybelline ‘The Colossal Big Shot’
  • Concealer: Fit me
  • Eyeliner: Revlon Color Stay in brown
  • Eyeshadow-Maybelline Blushed Nudes
  • Brows: e.l.f. Pomade
  • Shadow brush: wet n’ wild
  • Bronzer Brush: elf powder brush
  • Beauty blender: real techniques
  • Lipstick/Blush: Revlon ‘champagne on ice’ *not pictured*

Ok-on to the good stuff.

Step 1: Foundation

I LOVE this CC cream for an easy every day foundation. It’s so simple to put on and can accommodate several skin shades. I put a little dob on the back of my hand like so ,

and use a beauty blender to apply to your face. Wet the beauty blender and pounce the the foundation all over until fully blended!

Step 2: Concealer

I apply the concealer under my eyes in a V shape, and blend with your beauty blender.

Then if you want to get extra snazzy, apply the leftover concealer down the middle of your nose.

Step 3: Bronzer

YALL–Bronzer is your bestie from here on out. Remember that. You will notice your whole face start to transform when you apply bronzer. For this look, I just swept a little from my cheekbones back to my hairline.  Next, sweep it around your forehead (near the hairline). I also like to do a little of my neck and Chest for a pretty glow. DISCLAIMER: Prepare to get addicted to this bronzer. It’s a drugstore bronzer, but I PROMISE YOU-it’s my fav. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Perfect amount of glow and smells like heaven.

Most people would probably not use a powder brush for bronzer, but this one is my fav! Its an e.l.f brush, and will run you $3.00 at Target. Score! Just make sure we are blending the bronzer out yall!

Step 4: Eyeshadow

I kept this look super simple and only used 2 shadows—although any other time I will always tell you—EVERY TIME YOU DO EYESHADOW, USE AT LEAST 3 DIFFERENT SHADES. You get such pretty depth, and I promise–your eyes will pop!

Today I used this color first–

And just swept it all over my lid and into the crease with my wet n’ wild brush. These are at dollar tree for $1.00 yall! And the quality is great for the price–go grab one asap! (Also-I know it will be a rough transition, but the sooner you can start using a brush for eyeshadow, the prettier your eyes will be. And the more you use them, the easier it gets! The wet n’ wild brush shown here has a little groove that forces you to hold the brush correctly as well–love that! )

*Yes-my pinky is jacked up. I broke it playing volleyball as a teen-never got it fixed and that stupid finger is the biggest pain in my butt now. *

This next color  I just swept into a V-shape on the outer corners of my eyelids. Instant depth.

Step 5: Eyeliner

I just used a brown eyeliner and lined my eyes and in the inner rims of my lower eyelid. Simple.

Step 6: Mascara (My fav)

If you ask me what the most important makeup item you can wear is, I will always say mascara! It will totally change your face for the better every time, and your eyes will love you for it. I just bought this mascara, and man is it awesome! I highly recommend it for some BIG ol’ lashes. Go getcha’ some.

I roll in on the back side of my lashes, and coat til my arms hurt..ALLLL the mascara yall. COAT IT ON.

Step 7. Blush/Lipstick

OK usually I would do blush after I bronze-but today is a little different. I used my lipstick as my blush as well! Here is the color: I love this nude color and it’s makes such a pretty cheek color as well! Just apply at the apples and blend up! Simple.

STEP 8: Brows

Usually I would use a brush, but today just used my finger to add a little color and that’s it!

Try ti ignore all the foundation all over my nails–I am super messy 😬

SOOOO….here is the finished product!
Simple easy makeup that anyone can do-I promise!! Any questions? Send them my way!!! Let me know what you think dolls!!

DIY Detox bath….You need it. Trust me.

Right? We all need a little “Me time” and this was the PERFECT way for me to have a relaxing night to myself. Want one too? Well it’s about DANG TIME. Don’t feel bad. Just do it.

My situation? Hubby is out playing basketball with his friends. Just read the kiddos their story, prayers are said, and they are sound asleep–time for momma to #chill. And I can’t even lie–today has been a pretty chill day for me all around. Did a little housework, then went and hung by the pool with a friend. Kids were great–didn’t have to chase them anywhere or deal with any arguments. My youngest stayed on the first step all day and that is pretty awesome if you ask me. Know why? Yep. Momma gets to chill OUTSIDE the pool with adult conversation. Allll the praise hands right now. 🙌🏻 🙌🏻 🙌🏻

Anyways, pretty easy day ran right into pretty fantastic night. Kids were in bed at a halfway decent time, and then was time for me!

So have any of you all tried detox baths? I am pretty new to the concept–but better late than never right? And for all you who haven’t hopped on the detox train–well–you need to start. Like-in 20 minutes…..Maaaaybe 30-but no longer.

This is my second detox bath and this one was a bit more enjoyable than the last one–I am going to share with you what I put in both baths so you can compare and try as you please!

My first one was about a month ago, and all I did was put a bar of Himalayan Pink salt in the tub with me and sat about 20 minutes. ( I bought it Here but I don’t think they carry it anymore. Either way–love this website for all natural makeup! Check them out!)    But My DEAR GOSH y’all. I could hardly walk after this bath! Im telling you–I probably wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t experience it myself, but it takes all the nastiness out of you-and you FEEL IT.

Here are just a few of the benefits of a detox bath:

  • Relieves sore muscles
  • Relieves headaches
  • Balances pH levels
  • Draws out toxins
  • Help treat cold and flu symptoms

I did it simply because I know I do a lot of things that make me susceptible to toxins, and this is a great way to rid some of those-all the while giving me a relaxing night (or maybe just 20 minutes) and I feel so glam while doing it.. And yes people-when you have kids–little things like this are what make you feel amazing. Just go with it.

So earlier in the day, I coated my hair in a Deep conditioner and left it on until I rinsed off after my bath. Great for my hair, and a good way to start a pamper evening. I turned the lights off, lit some candles, grabbed a magazine and SOAKED. (Ok word to the wise–choose either the candles or the magazine. No lights+reading was a little difficult—I did it anyways because I am a rebel like that…..Trust me though. Pick one. Not both.)

Here are the ingredients I used for the perfect bath:

  • Hot tub water. HOTTTTTT
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Dollop of coconut oil
  • Heavy handed squirt of vitamin E oil
  • 10-12 drops lavender essential oil

Now I would have included 1 cup of Epsom salts, but I didn’t have any. All I had was the little bit of my Himalayan Pink salt bar left, and threw it in the tub with me–it still did something because my muscles are relaxed! That mixed with the baking soda and vinegar must be quite the bathtub concoction, because I feel amazing now! Drained nonetheless, but fab.

Don’t worry about smelling the vinegar either. It’s so diluted once it hits the water, you don’t smell anything other than the lavender. And if you prefer another essential oil, use it! Go with whatever tickles your fancy!

I loved having the oils in this bath! I am a huge coconut oil fan anyways, so this was just the icing on the cake for me. Coconut oil+my ‘heavy handed squirt of vitamin e oil’ (Yeah that sounds odd and slightly awkward–but you got the point didn’t you?) left my skin feeling heavenly! I shaved my legs as the tub was draining, and didn’t even need a shave cream! Awesome!

Now I always shower after a bath because I feel slightly weird after sitting in my own filth. (Yuck-I can’t think about it too much or I gross myself out)  I also usually need to wash my hair as well, so it just works better for me! My skin is still so soft and silky smooth front the oils, even after a shower!

Another thing–scrub the tub out when you are done. Please? Here is why:

  1. Your dirty butt has just been on the floor-and someone else will is going to step there next. Eww.
  2. The next person to step there is going to slip if you don’t clean it up. The oil stuff is SLIPPERY!
  3. Your tub may need cleaned anyways-here is a start.

So this was my night in a nutshell! Bath+Blogging. Fabulous if you ask me. Now I am off to grab a snack and drink LOTS OF WATER! This is important after detoxing (just like after a massage!) because a lot of toxins have been released, and need to be flushed out!

Now, go enjoy your bath-and see if you can make it to the couch afterward. 😉
All the love yall 💋

Free Jewelry via Rocksbox

Everyone loves a good subscription box right?? I am a big fan of the makeup boxes (Ipsy, Birchbox) and have seen a few others I would like to subscribe to–but you know–budget 🙄.

This box isn’t the typical subscription..This one is JEWELRY. Girls–the right earrings or necklace can make or break an outfit and I am a firm believer in earrings every day. If I leave the house without them, it’s going to mess my day up-ridiculous I know-but I can’t help it. I’m naked without them!

Now Rocksbox is a great alternative to shopping at the store–because you get 3 items and you keep them as long as you like! No overwhelming choices, and you don’t have to buy if you dont like them!

It’s Simple. Wear the items you love. Keep them. Get tired of them? Return for a new pair! Hate it from the start? Return them! Boom- New jewelry all the time and it can’t get any easier.

I will be honest-my first box wasn’t my favorite. I was slightly devastated, and emailed the Rocksbox team. To my suprise, they said to send it back and my next box was free too! I was in shock. They proceeded to tell me that you pay PER MONTH not PER BOX.  So when you order your first box, if you hate it. Send it back! They will immediately send another. FREE. Or if you love the items but wore them all in the week and want to try a new set, send them back. It’s free! So technically, you could order as many boxes as you could possible send in the month, and they would all be free! Seriously, I am loving this setup y’all . Perfect.

One of the best Dollar Tree Finds….And It’s a MUST HAVE.

Hey there friends!

This has been such a crazy month for me–and I am loving it! We have been keeping ourselves busy spending time with family and friends, spent the last weekend at a 3 day bible convention (so refreshing) alll the summer fun outside, party planning, our bible ministry, etc. All exciting stuff .  😬

One of the main events taking up my time this past month? Jack and Jules . Not familiar? It is our local children’s consignment that comes around twice a year…..and I LOVE it. It’s time consuming but SO WORTH IT. It’s a great way to sell your children’s gently used clothes/and to grab some great deals for your littles. (Let me know if you want a blog post on my hanging/pricing process!)

At any rate, I wanted to share one of my tried and true time savers–and this will work for anyone–especially those of us who hate to iron.

I am not going to lie, when my kids outgrow their clothes, I throw them in the bottom of the closet (sometimes they make it in the  ” I’ve outgrown It box”, sometimes they don’t.) Nonetheless, they are wrinkled. To the max. Every one of them.

That being said, I think I have found the holy grail of wrinkle reducers, and it’s cheap as dirt. Literally, maybe cheaper than dirt. ( NO joke–try potting all the plants around your house. Its pricey.)

Once again, Dollar Tree has come to the rescue. This wrinkle reducer y’all–all the praise hand emojis..Here. Let me throw one in here just for fun. 🙌🏻.. It’s bomb. Do the kids say that anymore? Someone fill me in.

Notice what it looks like here…..

Now promptly leave your house, and go grab a bottle.

It smells so fresh and clean–and it’s so simple to use! Evidently it is the off brand of Downy, which I didn’t realize existed. But I’m telling you, it can’t be much better than this.

Just spray it on your wrinkled item, and give it a pull. Pull the clothing on each side, and then top and bottom. It’s awesome! Notice the difference in this shirt.

Before

After

Ok please don’t fault me as I forgot to spray the bottom of the shirt, ( I was so excited to share with ya people, per the usual) but isn’t the difference AMAZING????? SO MUCH EASIER than ironing.

I also am a huge fan of the “throw it back in the dryer with a wet towel” trick, but sometimes there just isn’t time, ya know? Add in the nice scent boost with it, and you have a solid champ in this wrinkle releaser.

The price point can’t be beat for the time it saves you!

Do you use a spray on wrinkle releaser like this? What is your take on it?? Let me know in the comments!!!!!

Beauty favs-  Boscia Exfoliating Peel

Sorry gals! I know I have been MIA for a while, but I am really making an effort to spend as much of this summer as I can with my boys. Overall, I don’t consider myself a “summer person”, but this year, I just don’t know—-Maybe I am turning over a new leaf! I think I just associate Summer with terrible heat, and terrible heat with being a pregnant whale, and being a pregnant whale with NONSTOP sweating. It was miserable. I was miserable. And I know I was miserable to BE AROUND (SO sorry to all of you who had to be in the car with me and the AC on as high as possible. I know you froze. Thanks for freezing for me. Love youuuu.)  I ALSO was TERRIFIED my babies would overheat in the sun, and so I stayed out of it as much as possible.

But now that I am not so worried about infants overheating, (or melting myself) I seem to be really enjoying Summer! I think Ifinally  understand why all these people love this season that I used to despise. That being said, the Summer heat does a number on our skin, and we need to combat some of these issues while we can!

Now, I am not the greatest at taking care of my skin–and I really wish my skin care product shelf was more than just a shelf. (Now makeup on the other hand—-maybe I have too much?……Nah).

But for whatever reason, I find it so hard to splurge on skincare…(Kind of like we don’t want to spend the 30.00 on the blouse that will last forever, but dropping 30 bucks on dinner is a no brainer.) I know I need to start with my skin, especially since I am a huge makeup fan, but getting started is rough!

At any rate, I decided to take the plunge and visited my local Sephora. They are used to seeing me there for makeup, and know my kids when we come in. It’s a problem, I know. But that day, I needed to see the skincare lady–new territory!

I told the consultant I felt like my skin needed a good cleaning-something to rid my face of the build-up and dirt. I didn’t want to break the bank, but needed something decent. She directed me to the Boscia shelf. I have seen this brand several times before, but never thought too much about it. She revealed to me that this peel was exactly what I needed, and would last quite a while.  Its the Boscia “exfoliating peel gel.” It’s like a mini chemical peel! Exciting, right? She also mentioned that it would clear up these black-heads that I hate so much. Cha-Ching!

I took it home and tried it, and no joke, it WORKED. Its kind of a weird setup if you ask me, but I can roll with it. You have to apply it to DRY skin, and rub around your face. It starts to ball up as you go, and that is how you know it’s working my friends!

Continue to rub it around for a minute, then rinse.  Voila!  Easy peasy.

Check out what the back says for yourself–its pretty neat!

Sorry about my awful nails–time to repaint–I know.

My skin immediately felt better after using this, and with time, I should be able to use it less often!

I HIGHLY recommend this product, and think you will love it too!

What are some of your favs? Let me know if you try this one
